Who are we?
Introducing Levantina
Levantina is a brand that aims to bring to the world an authentic and unfiltered taste of the Levant region. The Levant is one of the most consequential parts of the world, throughout history and especially today. It comprises of the countries of Lebanon, Syria, Palestine and Jordan. It is the crossroads of civilization, and this is reflected in the products that it produces. Some Levantine items, like the Oud guitar and Nay flute, are heard in musical traditions far beyond the region: many items that originate here reverberate well beyond our borders.
Levantine crafts are deeply rooted in our land and traditions, with some products, like Aleppo soaps, being made using the same methods and ingredients for over 3,500 years. This reflects their unmatched quality and craftsmanship, which has withstood the test of time: If they weren’t perfect, they wouldn’t be made in the same way for so long! Other products, like our Tatreez items, are literally embedded with our history and stories of centuries past.

Why we are here
Boycott, divest, sanction
The events of last two years have given the BDS (Boycott-Divest-Sanction) movement huge momentum. I, along with countless others, swore off any brands and products that were complicit in the genocide of our people. This left a huge gap in the market, and I envisioned a brand that provided unique and heartfelt gift items through a comprehensively BDS-safe supply chain. Our products are sourced straight from families, small businesses and cooperatives in the Levant, and are shipped with the help of a trusted, BDS-safe logistics company.

Why we are here
So much to share!
In early 2024, I founded Kufiya Souk with the goal of affordably, quickly and easily bringing a kufiya to anyone who wanted to show solidarity. As people fell in love with their kufiyas and appreciated the history behind them, I thought, there is so much more to share! This interest in our culture encouraged me to create Levantina; to share more elements of our rich and beautiful heritage.

Why we are here
An economic bridge
During the last two years, the Levant has experienced some of the worst instability and destruction in its history. Every single shipment for Kufiya Souk dodged literal bombs and bullets to get here. This volatility has meant that families back home are experiencing great economic hardship. One of my goals for Levantina is that it becomes a bridge for these families to bring their artistry, skills and traditional crafts to the world; and to alleviate their hardship by helping them to participate in the global economy.
